After all the times that Sandwell Channel Swimming Club has supported me during my training for the A2A this year, it was good to help out the club, support other swimmers and give something back.  I also had the opportunity to meet Geth, who was unable to swim the channel this year due to a injury.  Geth is the latest addition to the TCUK team and I will coaching him towards a succesful channel crossing next year.



Nick, Jim, Paul and Geth (pictured above), all swam succesfully in the 61 degree waters of Swan Pool.  Unfortunately, us old folk on the side-lines froze our butts off!!

It was also the club's annaul awards ceremony, where I was fortunate enough to be presented the, 'Swim of the Year' award for my jolly across to Cap gris Nez.



Although Lucy wasn't there, I was very proud to collect her award for the, 'Triathlete of the Year'.  Dan Earthquake and his team at Sandwell Country Park provide a haven for dedicated and motivated athletes who want to swim long.  Good show chaps.....
