The end of the 2008 season has definately provided me with new motivation and passion for the world of Ultra Sport. Tom Beaver's awesome Arch to Arc peformance is one in a long line of success stories for Enduroman.

The Double Iron UK has a massive success and we are now fully booked for 2009 with a record new entry of 72 athletes (3 waves of 24).

The Arch to Arc is also fully booked for both 2009 and 2010.  We have new ultra triathlon starting in Lanzarote this December and there are plans on the way for a Triple Iron Triathlon.

Last weekend was spent on the boat in Weymouth.  Both Claire Smith and Jo Kilkenny are going for Arch to Arc glory in July next year and both athletes are taking the bull by the horns and starting their preparation well in advance.

Pictured above looked slightly nervous as we sailed out of Weymouth marina on Saturday, both Claire and Jo completed solid swims and are planning further sea swims this year.

For me, training for the Lanzarote Ultra has just started.  I have 10 weeks until the race so there is loads of time to train.  The event is a 45 mile run / 11 mile swim / 90 mile bike.  I already have a 6-hour swim in the bag this year, so I will build back up to 5 or 6 hours in the pool before the start of December.  I plan to do the whole event at Arch to Arc pace, so it will leave me 'half cocked' for the 2009 season (just in case somebody pulls out)
