Although a little shorter than planned, Claire and I ran into the darkness on a route that took us along the sea front from Christchurch to Pool.
We ran for 4hrs at A2A pace on an out and back course which attracted my interest for a possible ultra event in the future in this area. Claire has recently returned from injury and was wearing a more supportive trainer to protect her knee. Unfortunately, with a new type of trainer, you have to go through the phase of finding out where the new blisters will appear. Don't let it be said again that men moan more than women when it comes down to pain. You would have thought that she had a foot chopped off!!![]()
The consistency of my swim training has a lot to be desired as of late, and as I drove to the gym for an overdue 4hr swim last night I spotted the tattoo shop open. It has always been my plan to have an Enduroman Tattoo - hey! there's only 5 people in the world that can have one so an ideal opportunity to feel smug!
I had booked an appointment previously but chickened out as I have 2 tattoos already and regret having both of them. 2hrs later I had permanently marked my body with a symbol of the proudest moment of my life.
This weekend, we take a trip to Cornwall to stay at my sisters holiday cottages (www.coriandercottages.co.uk). This location is right upon the South West Coast Path and will provide a perfect setting for our 6-8hr run this Saturday. For those wanting an ideal training weekend, check out my sister's website.
See what I Mean!!!
