Although we were out for a little shorter than planned, a decent run along the coastal path was ideal training for the similar terrain that we will face in Lanzarote.

My sister's hotel backs right onto Saints Way, which is another ancient footpath that links Fowey with the Coastal path some 3 miles away.
Our preparation was far from ideal. It had been a while since I had seen my sister and father so an early afternoon drink went on a bit too long and we found ourselves staggering back from the village two sheets to the wind.
Anyway, Cornish Rattler's Cider is packed full of carbs and a home made chili with my sis topped off the perfect evening.
The weather started off ok, but after an hour or so the heavens opened and we were soaked to the skin. Great training for Lanza though; the winds were strong and there was very little flat.
