The Enduroman Double Iron UK that was held in Lichfield last weekend was a massive success.

Hywel Davies (left) stormed the event in a little over 21hrs 30mins.  I would like to thank everybody for the kind words of thanks that were sent to me for organising this epic event.

Life is full of surprises.  Some good - some not so good.  A few days before the Double my wife Lucy told me that she wanted us to go our separate ways.  For Enduroman, this means that without a support crew I am unable to attempt my challenge at the Deca that was meant to be underway 2 days ago.

As I would not dream of asking an athlete to do what I am not capable of, the organisation of the 2009 Deca will have to be put on hold.

Training seriously for any triathlon requires sacrifices.  Ultra sport requires a great deal more.  For what it is worth, my advice to any would-be Arch to Arcer or Double / Deca athlete is that this is only a sport and to prioritise those things in life that are most important to them.
