I will aim to complete the 45 mile run in about 9 hours, then start the swim less than an hour after that. After a 6-7 hour swim, I will again have less than an hours rest before zipping round the bike course in about 7 hours. So somewhere around 25 hours will be my target, smashing the old man's record by about 5 hours.
I have spent the last couple of years training for fun and setting up new Enduroman events so that others can challenge their limits. I now feel that it is the time to focus on my own challenge.
I met up with Dave (Enduroman No 6), and his lovely wife Tracey last week in London for the night. It was the first time we had the chance to talk about his A2A. After watching the Reverend and the Makers we supped several rum and cokes and I even got to demonstrate the good old 'squaddie 2-step' on the dance floor!
I have had to be careful starting my training back up again especially after damaging both my Achilles so badly at the 5-Iron. I have done several 60-90 minute runs over the last month along with steady pool and sea swims and the occasional bike ride (I still have sores from Cornwall!)
