At 10am yesterday, Hywel jumped into Weymouth Bay and began the Jurassic Coast swim. The furthest Hywel had swam before was 3 miles and he told me before the start that his aim was to swim 5 miles. Strong Westerly winds prevented us from following the coast up to Lulworth Cove, so we kept to the calmer waters of the bay and Portland Harbour. After 3hrs 27mins of swimming, Hywel completed 5 miles. Well done to Hywel.
